Hello! My name is Dr. Taylor Kane, and this is my 9th year teaching and 6th year at Northwest. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Education and Theatre in 2015, I earned my Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction from Carson-Newman University in 2020, I finished my Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree and Administrators License in 2022, and I completed my Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership at Carson-Newman in 2023.

In my spare time I like to write poetry, do yoga, spend time with my three cats (Ollivander, Fitzgerald, and Newton), and read the mountains of books in my house. I also pet sit professionally!

I will be teaching English II, Health Science Academy English II, and Journalism this school year. I advise the Yearbook and also serve as the overall Lead of the Health Science Academy. I am looking forward to another great year as a Viking!
