I was born and raised in Saginaw, MI. I attended college at Tennessee State University, Nashville, TN where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. I have obtained my Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, OR. This will be my 11th year teaching in Tennessee and my 6th year at Northwest. I have over 21 years of teaching experience. My husband and I have lived in Nashville since 2008, but moved to Clarksville in June 2017. We have three children; 2 boys and 1 girl who are all high school graduates and a 2 year old grandson. In addition to English III, I also teach AP Language and Composition.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS 

  • Students need to arrive on time to class and stay the duration of class.

  • Students need to be responsible for their work and asking for help when needed. I will send out important reminders about assignments and dates via Remind.  I will also be available to help students with assignment questions via Remind. I will stay after school at least one day each week to be available for tutoring. Students should make plans with me to stay before staying.

  • Students will be prepared and engaged in all lessons.

  • Students will treat others with respect as they would like to be treated. 

  • Water is allowed in the classroom in a container.
