CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
- Students need to arrive on time for class and stay for the duration of the class period.
- Students need to be responsible for their work and ask for help when needed. I will send out important reminders about assignments and dates via Google Classroom and Parent Square. I will also be available to help students with assignment questions via email or Google Classroom. I will stay after school for tutoring by appointment.
- Students will be prepared and engaged in all lessons.
- Students will treat others with the same respect as they would like to be treated.
- Water is allowed in the classroom in a container with a lid. No other drinks or food is allowed.
- Cell phones and earbuds must be put away out of sight during class unless the student has specific permission from the teacher. Students who put their phones away in the calculator pouch will be allowed to take advantage of receiving 2 points a day. This is not mandatory but a voluntary act.
- Students will turn in their own original work. Plagiarism will not be accepted or tolerated. This includes using photos of others’ work to complete their own assignments and sharing documents/writing assignments. Consequences will be either a zero without the possibility of making up the assignment and a notation in Power School or a discipline referral and the students staying after school to make up the assignment for a maximum grade of 60%. The student will be able to choose either consequence.
Academic Dishonesty
Using AI, CHATGPT, or any other form of artificial intelligence for assignments is considered academic dishonesty and is not allowed. The same policy applies to plagiarism when using AI in your work.
