NOTE FOR AP PSYCHOLOGY
It is required of you to pay the Advanced placement fee for each of your AP classes to your assigned AP teacher. I will only accept the AP Psychology.
Your AP Psychology Exam is May 12th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
This is a fee of $99 and is due before November 15. This fee is only for ordering your AP Exam. All students are required to pay the fee unless on Free/Reduced Lunch Waiver. All AP students must take their exam at the end of the year. I will post the link to pay on Google Classroom or you can write a check to Northwest High School. Students and/or parents may either pay on OSP or to the bookkeeper in the front office.
NOTE FOR HONORS BIOLOGY
Welcome to Honor’s Biology. I am excited to growth your student this year in how to think critically in the sciences. This course will provide additional variables to test during our labs, deeper discussions, and opportunities to learn that the general biology courses do not offer. That being said, students that are in the honor’s course that opt to not complete this for any reason will have a lesser grade due to all additional honor’s components being incorporated into Powerschool as part of their grade. Northwest appreciates your continued support in your child’s education and pushing your child to have a growth mindset in route to college and career preparedness.
The teacher will provide a choice board for students to choice their weekly honor’s component. Each week, students will pick a new choice until all have been chosen. (Similar to bingo but one must cover the whole card.) However, the choices will reset each nine weeks. These assignments will have a general rubric and are designed for honors students to deep dive into data, vocabulary, and have creative choice.
Opportunities to test additional variables will be presented in labs during the year. More information to come.
