Hello! My name is Mr. McCants, and I will be teaching Algebra II and Statistics this year at Northwest High School. This will be my fifth year with CMCSS and my second year at NWHS, and I couldn't be more excited for the 2026–2027 school year!

My educational journey began at Early College High School, where I graduated with my High School Diploma and A.S. degree in Teaching from Jackson State Community College. I later earned my B.S. in English with a focus in Professional Communication and Journalism from the University of Maine. I also earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University and my Ed.S. in Instructional Design and Technology from South College. I am currently working toward my Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, also at South College.

I am passionate about education, growth, and helping students build confidence in math. I look forward to getting to know my students, creating a positive classroom, and helping them feel supported and motivated.
